TV-Series
Description
Enedra is a Neighbor from the militaristic nation of Aftokrator. He was a member of an expedition force sent to invade the human world, known as Meeden, during the Large-Scale Invasion arc. A tall individual, Enedra stands at 182 centimeters with long, straight-cut black hair and red eyes. A notable physical characteristic is his right eye, which possesses a black sclera, a direct symptom of the Trion Receptors, or horns, embedded in his head having taken root in his brain. These horns, which are black from his use of a Black Trigger, were implanted to dramatically increase his trion capacity and quality.
Enedra's personality is defined by a volatile mix of arrogance, cruelty, and cunning. He displays a profound confidence in his own power, often referring to humans as monkeys, and appears to be battle-hungry with sadistic tendencies. Despite his seemingly rash and unruly demeanor, which was exacerbated by the influence of his horns on his brain, he is a perceptive and calculating fighter. He demonstrated this by quickly deducing the source of his enemies' invincibility in a training room and by using feigned anger as a lure to land a decisive blow. His primary motivation after his death is purely revenge against Aftokrator for betraying him, making him a surprisingly cooperative, if still untrustworthy, source of information for Border.
In the story, Enedra first serves as a major antagonist during the invasion. He is deemed competent enough to be assigned a Black Trigger, which he uses to wreak havoc within Border headquarters, inflicting severe casualties. His role, however, transforms dramatically after his death. When his comrade Mira arrives to retrieve his Black Trigger, she gruesomely kills him, revealing that his horns had fused with his brain and that he was considered a failure. Unknown to Aftokrator, the horns retained his biological data and personality. Border recovers them and successfully implants them into a black Rad, effectively creating a duplicate of Enedra who retains all his memories. In this new form, he becomes a detainee and a vital informant, trading his extensive knowledge of Aftokrator's internal politics for a degree of comfort and a chance at vengeance.
Enedra's key relationships are defined by betrayal and utility. He is openly insubordinate towards his superior, Hyrein, badmouthing him without concern, which creates tension with other subordinates like Hyuse. His most critical relationship is with Mira, a fellow Aftokrator soldier who coldly executes him on Hyrein's orders to harvest his Trigger for a more suitable user. This betrayal fuels his posthumous desire for revenge. Following this, his primary relationship is with his Border interrogators, including Osamu Mikumo, whom he provides with detailed information about Aftokrator's feudal system and Hyrein's political machinations. He also forms an unexpected bond with a Border operative named Terashima, with whom he watches movies during his downtime.
Enedra undergoes a significant narrative development, transitioning from a savage and loyal soldier of Aftokrator to a betrayed and vengeful ghost. His arrogance leads to his defeat by normal Trigger users, a humiliation that Mira cites as the final disgrace justifying his termination. His death is not the end, however, as his resurrection as a Rad transforms him into an ally of convenience for Border. While he remains brash and manipulative, he willingly divulges state secrets about his home nation, including the impending crisis of their Mother Trigger requiring a new god and the treacherous nature of House Hyrein, solely to see his former comrades fall.
Enedra's primary asset is his Black Trigger, Vorvoros, also known as the Mud King. This trigger grants him the ability to change the state of his trion body between solid, liquid, and gas at will. In liquid or gaseous form, he is nearly impervious to physical attacks, allowing him to slip through small openings, invade an opponent's lungs to attack from within, or reshape his body into deadly blades. The main weakness of this ability is that it exposes his trion relay center and supply system, which he protects by encasing them in a hard shell and creating decoy dummies to misdirect enemies. His implanted Trion Receptors grant him immense trion reserves, allowing him to use his powerful Black Trigger for extended periods, but the horns' encroachment on his brain is what ultimately led to his unstable personality and demise.
