Description
Kotone Amamiya is a bright and responsible sixth-grade student who serves as her class president. Raised in a family that runs a donut shop, she is known for creating inventive new treats. Despite her soft-spoken and gentle manner, she possesses a quiet confidence and is not afraid to speak her mind. Kotone is highly respected by her peers for her intelligence and talents across many hobbies, though she rarely asks for help and tends to shoulder burdens on her own.
Her life changes when she meets Adeline, a rabbit-like being from the Dance World. Wanting to repay the mysterious dancing hero Flash Beat who had saved her, Kotone fuses with Adeline to become Wink Beat. In this form, her appearance shifts dramatically: she gains blonde hair styled with orange tips, wears a bear-eared headband, and retains her distinctive green eyes. As Wink Beat, her body adapts to agile, dance-like combat, granting her enhanced speed and flexibility. Her signature style is a girlish hip hop approach, making her a lively and graceful fighter. However, while she can deliver powerful attacks, she lacks a purifying ability, meaning she cannot cleanse a Dance Stone without a partner.
Throughout the story, Kotone grows from a grateful admirer who wanted to support her hero into an essential member of the Brave Beats team. Her relationship with Hibiki Kazaguruma, a childhood friend and classmate, is marked by a comfortable familiarity, often teasing each other like an old married couple while sharing mutual care. With Adeline, she forms a trusting partnership that lets her express a more playful and adventurous side. Kotone’s arc quietly challenges her independence as she learns to rely on others, gradually opening up and embracing the value of teamwork in the fight to recover the scattered Dance Stones.
