TV-Series
Description
Eureka, known as Bonnie in English adaptations, is the younger sister of Clemont, the Lumiose City Gym Leader, and a close traveling companion of Ash Ketchum and Serena throughout the Kalos region. She is an energetic and cheerful eight-year-old girl with a strong and enthusiastic love for Pokémon, often rushing toward any new creature she encounters with unbridled excitement.

Because she is too young to officially become a Pokémon Trainer, Eureka channels her passion into caring for the team's Pokémon. She takes on the role of a devoted caretaker, enjoying tasks such as grooming, feeding, and playing with the Pokémon belonging to Ash, Serena, and her brother. Her most constant companion is a Dedenne, which her brother caught for her so she could raise it until she comes of age; this Electric-type Pokémon is often seen sleeping or peeking out from the small purse she carries everywhere.

A prominent and recurring aspect of Eureka's personality is her self-appointed mission to find a suitable wife for her older brother, Clemont. She frequently approaches young women she meets on their journey and asks them to marry her brother, a habit that deeply embarrasses Clemont and often leads to him using his mechanical Aipom arm to pull her away from the situation. Despite this teasing, she holds her brother in high regard and frequently speaks of his intelligence, though she is not afraid to be critical whenever one of his inventions malfunctions.

Eureka’s role in the story is primarily that of a supportive and uplifting presence for the group. She provides emotional support and optimism during challenging moments and has a strong sense of empathy, which is especially evident when she bonds with mythical Pokémon. Her compassionate nature allows her to connect with creatures like Diancie, offering friendship and reassurance and helping them understand human customs. She dislikes being left out of the group's activities and can become pouty when she feels ignored, but her overall demeanor is one of youthful curiosity and care.

Throughout the series, her development is marked by a growing sense of responsibility and a deepening understanding of friendship. While she begins simply as a child who wants to be included, she matures into a more perceptive individual who actively contributes to the group's morale. Her notable abilities do not involve battling, as she is not a trainer, but lie in her remarkable skill at nurturing and forming close bonds with Pokémon. She also demonstrates cleverness and determination, occasionally helping to solve problems during the group’s travels, proving that a person's value to a team is not measured by strength in battle alone.
