TV-Series
Description
Ichigo Hoshimiya is the main protagonist of the first and second seasons of the series, a student at Starlight Academy who rises from a complete novice to a top-ranked idol. Before her idol career began, she was an ordinary middle school student who helped her mother, Ringo Hoshimiya, run a bento shop. She lived a simple life with her mother, her father Taichi, and her younger brother Raichi. Her journey begins when her childhood best friend, Aoi Kiriya, takes her to see a live performance by the top idol Mizuki Kanzaki. Inspired by what she saw, Ichigo decides to take the entrance exam for the prestigious Starlight Academy, embarking on a new path.

Ichigo is characterized by her cheerful, optimistic, and energetic personality. She is a natural optimist with a very positive mindset, which drives her to work tirelessly to overcome any obstacle. While she can be a stubborn airhead at times and often spaces out, she is also friendly, caring, and always willing to help others. Her determination is one of her strongest traits, and she is known as a determined type who takes action as soon as she decides on something. This leads her to perform drastic, unconventional acts, such as climbing a cliff with an old map to meet a top designer or chopping down a giant tree in the mountains to make a Christmas decoration for her classmates. Her defining quirks include a voracious appetite, as she claims there is no food she dislikes, and a notable lack of common sense regarding the entertainment world, often requiring her friend Aoi to explain basic concepts. A small, recurring detail is her expressive red ribbon, which is said to move according to her mood.

Her primary motivation is to become a top idol, a dream she initially shares with her best friend Aoi. Beyond achieving fame, her goal is to understand what it truly means to be an idol, a journey she embarks on after being inspired by Mizuki Kanzaki. She wishes to walk her own path and even decides to study in America for a year to grow on her own terms, following the examples of other idols who forged their own ways.

As a student at Starlight Academy, Ichigo is a cute-type idol whose preferred brand is the girly and sweet Angely Sugar. She quickly demonstrates natural talent and beginner's luck, managing to perform a special appeal during her very first live performance. Throughout the story, her role evolves from a novice learning the ropes to a central figure who inspires others. She forms strong bonds with her peers, most notably her best friend Aoi Kiriya, who is her constant supporter and explains the complexities of the idol world. Together with Aoi and the cool-type idol Ran Shibuki, she forms the unit Soleil, which means sun in French. She later goes on to form the duo 2wingS with her rival Seira Otoshiro. Her relationships are key to her development; she has a deep admiration for her rival and inspiration Mizuki Kanzaki, and her friendship with Aoi forms the emotional core of her early journey.

Ichigo undergoes significant development from an ordinary girl with no knowledge of idols to the top-ranked idol who eventually replaces Mizuki Kanzaki, breaking the legendary idol's three-year streak. Initially clumsy and uninformed, her experiences, failures, and hard work teach her what it means to be a true idol. She learns to master her skills, from signing autographs to performing multiple special appeals in a single concert. Her journey is marked by key events, including a narrow loss to Mizuki in the Starlight Queen Cup, a transformative year studying in America, and her eventual rise to the very top of the idol world.

In terms of notable abilities, Ichigo is not a traditional genius but is often described as a natural-born star. She possesses immense stamina and physical ability, which have been formally verified and are demonstrated through her many physical feats. She has an absolute sense of taste, a natural talent for preparing and cooking food, and her specialty is making lunch boxes. Her lucky charm is a rice scoop, a nod to her family's bento shop. As an idol, her strength lies not in a single technical skill but in her powerful stage presence, her ability to drive herself forward with pure enthusiasm, and her capacity to sincerely celebrate the successes of others, a trait that proves to be uniquely powerful.
