Description
Aigami, whose real name is Diva, is the primary antagonist of this story. He is a mysterious youth with tanned skin, golden eyes, and distinctive dark teal hair styled into two horn-like spikes and ponytails bound with golden rings. His attire consists of a sleeveless green trench coat over a lavender shirt, and he wears a pendant resembling a miniature Millennium Puzzle. Under his alias Aigami, he infiltrates Domino High School as a transfer student, implanting false memories into the faculty and student body to make his presence seem ordinary.

Aigami is the leader of a group of children known as the Plana. As a child, he was an orphan in Egypt who suffered under an abusive guardian before being rescued by the mysterious guardian Shadi. Shadi became a mentor to Aigami and several other orphans, including Aigami's younger sister Sera and their friend Mani. Shadi taught them about the Millennium Items and bestowed upon Aigami the Quantum Cube, a powerful artifact. Shadi believed that when the seven Millennium Items were reunited, a door would open to a higher, ideal dimension, and he selected Aigami, Sera, and Mani as the chosen ones who could enter this new world.

Aigami's primary motivation is to lead the Plana to this perfect dimension and escape what he views as a corrupt and meaningless world. He believes fervently in Shadi's vision and is determined to achieve this goal at any cost. His mission is directly threatened by the potential resurrection of the Pharaoh Atem, as the Pharaoh's return would nullify the powers Shadi granted to Aigami and his group, trapping them in the ordinary world. Consequently, Aigami is determined to prevent the Millennium Puzzle from being reassembled and the Pharaoh from returning. He is also driven by a desire for revenge against Ryo Bakura, as the dark spirit within Bakura, Yami Bakura, was responsible for killing Shadi.

Initially, Aigami appears calm and quiet, genuinely caring for his younger sister and the other children under his protection. However, his motivations are deeply selfish, and he shows little regard for anyone outside his chosen group. He believes the world of Yugi and his friends is beyond saving and is willing to banish or eliminate anyone he sees as an obstacle, including Seto Kaiba and Yugi himself. This ruthlessness and his obsessive hatred make him vulnerable to outside corruption.

In the story, Aigami uses his powers to create a wave of disappearances in Domino City, sending people to another dimension where they slowly fade from existence. He confronts Kaiba at the excavation site of the Millennium Puzzle and engages him in a duel. Although Kaiba defeats him, Aigami successfully steals two pieces of the Puzzle before escaping. He later sends Yugi's friends Joey Wheeler and Ryo Bakura to another dimension. This action forces Yugi to confront Aigami directly to save them. Aigami's obsession with his mission ultimately allows the malevolent spirit of the Millennium Ring to corrupt him completely.

When corrupted by the Millennium Ring, Aigami transforms into a being called Dark Diva. In this form, he takes on a grotesque, demonic appearance. His skin turns greenish-gray, his body sprouts rigid cube-like protrusions and wings, his hair turns white, and the Millennium Ring fuses into his chest. His personality changes drastically from a seeker of a peaceful ideal world to a sadistic force obsessed with creating darkness and despair. In this state, he attacks even his own sister and takes pleasure in the suffering he inflicts during his duels.

Aigami possesses several notable abilities derived from the Quantum Cube. He can teleport himself across great distances, alter the memories of ordinary people, and banish individuals to other dimensions where they disintegrate or fade away. He is also a highly skilled Duel Monsters player, using a Cubic Deck focused on summoning powerful monsters like Crimson Nova the Dark Cubic Lord and its fusion form, Crimson Nova Trinity the Dark Cubic Lord. His strategy often involves dealing large amounts of effect damage to both himself and his opponents. During his final duel against Yugi and Kaiba, he uses a special variant called a Dimension Realm Duel, which allows monsters to be summoned with power drawn directly from the duelists' spirits.

Throughout the narrative, Aigami's key relationships are with his sister Sera, who tries to stop his violent path, and his friend Mani, who attempts to reason with him. His hatred for Bakura and his opposition to Yugi and Kaiba define his role as the central threat. By the end of the story, after being defeated in a duel where the spirit of the Pharaoh briefly returns to aid Yugi, Aigami is purified and reverted to his normal form. With the Pharaoh's temporary return, Aigami loses the powers granted to him by Shadi, becoming an ordinary human. He ultimately leaves with Mani and his sister to an unknown destination, his plans for a higher dimension finally laid to rest.
