Marie Nobi is a student at Sakimori Academy and the closest friend of Shoko Sashinami. Despite her youthful and somewhat childish appearance, she possesses a mature emotional composure and is unafraid to express her opinions. She is quiet and tends to act at her own pace, but she deeply values her friendships and occasionally shows a playful, teasing side. Marie is a member of the school’s swimming club and has been suffering from amnesia since before entering high school, unable to recall any memories from more than two years in the past. It is later revealed that her memory loss is directly related to the Valvrave program: she was the original test pilot of Valvrave unit 01, and her memories were absorbed by the artificial intelligence Pino during the testing process. As the story progresses, Marie takes on a political role within the newly formed independent nation of New JIOR, becoming its Minister of Internal Affairs. She does not pilot a Valvrave after Haruto Tokishima takes control of unit 01, and instead supports her friends and the new nation through her administrative duties and personal loyalty. Her primary motivation is to protect and stand by those she cares about, especially Shoko, and she plays a quiet but steady role in the community of Module 77. Her development centers on the revelation of her lost past and her acceptance of a new purpose within New JIOR. Marie has no special physical abilities; her strength lies in her emotional maturity and her dedication to her friends.
