Description
Pekora is an archangel from Heaven who becomes stranded on Earth after losing her halo, an event that leaves her unable to return home and without access to her angelic powers. She originally descended to the mortal realm on a mission to hunt demons and witches, and her first significant act in the story is an attempt to eliminate Jashin-chan and those associated with her. That attempt fails because the halo she needs to channel her angelic strength has gone missing. The halo is accidentally mistaken for a fluorescent light and thrown away, and by the time she locates it later, it falls apart in her hands.
Her personality is defined by seriousness, purity, and a strong sense of angelic duty. She holds clear convictions about good and evil and genuinely wants to do what is right, but she tends to place ideals above practical judgment. She struggles to account for the realities of the human world and the circumstances of the people around her, which frequently causes her well-intentioned actions to misfire. She is kind and innocent, yet also stubborn and rigid in her ways, refusing to bend her principles even when they prove ineffective.
Because she has nowhere to live on Earth, she initially sleeps in a cardboard box in a park. Her situation gradually improves only in small ways: she takes on a series of part-time jobs that pay extremely poorly and eventually acts as a bodyguard for Poporon, a fellow fallen angel who is even more helpless than she is.
