Description
Yurie Kozakai is a Japanese voice actress born on July 6, 1995, in Higashiura, Aichi Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Crocodile. Her path to voice acting began in 2012 when she successfully passed an audition for the multimedia project Chita Musume, which was created to promote the Chita Peninsula. She was cast as the second-generation voice for the local character Mirai Higashiura. This role marked the start of her professional career while she was still in high school. Her work with the Chita Musume project, alongside her fellow actresses, earned them the Best Performance Group Award at the Taipei International Travel Fair for three consecutive years. In 2014, she was appointed as the official Tourism Ambassador for the town of Higashiura.
Kozakai's career gained significant momentum after she joined her current agency in 2017. Her first major role in a television anime series came in 2018 when she was cast as Pekola in Dropkick on My Devil!. This character became one of her most notable and recurring roles, as she has reprised the voice of Pekola across multiple seasons and specials of the series, including Dropkick on My Devil! X, Dropkick on My Devil!! Dash, and Dropkick on My Devil!!: Apocalypse Day. In addition to voicing the character, she also performed the series' opening theme song, Ano Ko ni Dropkick, along with her co-stars.
A steady increase in prominent roles followed. In 2020, she voiced Kaori Takanashi in the supernatural thriller Talentless Nana. The year 2021 was particularly significant, as she landed her first lead role as Ichika Arima in the romantic comedy Koikimo. That same year, she also began voicing Yuki Yoshikawa in the beloved romance series Horimiya, a role she has continued in subsequent installments like Horimiya -piece-. Another notable role in 2021 was Maria Kuroda in World's End Harem.
