Kaori Takanashi attends an isolated academy for students with supernatural abilities. She has shoulder-length black hair and frequently wears blue or green colored contact lenses over her natural eyes. Her appearance includes painted nails and compliance with the standard school uniform.

Personality-wise, she embraces the gyaru subculture. She is often seen socializing and joins her close friend Kirara Habu in teasing classmate Michiru Inukai. Their friendship suffers a brief rupture following a dispute over Kirara's unauthorized use of Kaori's colored contacts.

Kaori's supernatural ability is short-distance teleportation, letting her instantly jump short distances, though her range is limited to the confines of the island academy.

During the academy's events, she becomes a target for Nana Hiiragi, who exploits the contact lens conflict. After Kirara Habu's death, Nana sends Kaori a falsified apology message from Kirara's phone. Upon receiving it, Kaori teleports back to her room and inserts her colored contact lenses. Unaware that Nana poisoned the contact lens solution, Kaori suffers fatal poisoning. In her final moments, she frantically claws at her eyes attempting to remove the contacts, leaving scratch marks, but succumbs to the toxin.
