Description
Katra Paige is a princess from the planet Kiel, a world that was ultimately destroyed by a black hole. She is a young girl with a somewhat boyish and fearless disposition, especially in her younger years, but she also carries a deep sense of responsibility and compassion for her people. Physically, she has pointed ears, light purple hair tied into two braids, and pink eyes. Her attire consists of a white long-sleeved shirt and pants, complemented by a blue-grey cape and a circlet on her head.
Katra Paige’s primary motivation is to save the galaxy from the same devastating fate that befell her own planet. When her homeworld was on the verge of being consumed by a black hole, the planet's scientists worked on a final weapon, the Cosmic Plasma Photon Cannon, but it could not be completed in time. Instead of fleeing, the scientist Potomuri was sent away on a small ship, tasked with finding a planet that might share the same destiny and protecting it. Katra, however, was not merely a passive survivor; she actively sought a solution.
Her role in the story of Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy is that of a mystical guide and a catalyst for the protagonist, Matsukaze Tenma. She first appears to him in a dream, leading him to the Pixie Stone, a being of light that becomes his companion. Later, she appears before Tenma in the waking world, visible only to him, and entrusts him with a mission. She hands him one fragment of hope, Pixie’s stone, and requests that he find three other similar fragments, telling him that gathering these stones is a way to save the galaxy. Katra repeatedly appears to Tenma at crucial moments, guiding him to caves where the other fragments are hidden, such as the Ocean Crystal. She explains that she chose him because she saw that he was troubled by the thought that Earth Eleven's victories meant despair for other planets, and she believed he could wield the power of these fragments correctly.
Key relationships define her character. Her most significant connection is with Potomuri, one of Kiel’s scientists whom she commanded to escape their dying planet so he could protect another world. She also has a strong bond with her knight, Sir Jess Roog, who felt from her the kindness and innocence that drove his loyalty to her. Her interactions with Tenma are central, as she acts as his spiritual guide, providing him with the knowledge and tools needed to continue the tournament. Her relationship with Bitway Ozrock is antagonistic; on the day Kiel was destroyed, he kidnapped her. He coerced her into helping complete the Cosmic Plasma Photon Cannon by claiming he would use it to erase the black hole, a promise he ultimately broke to pursue galactic conquest.
Throughout the series, Katra’s development is tied to her transformation from a mysterious guide into a more active participant. Initially a spectral figure, she is later revealed to be very much real, having been held captive by Ozrock. A flashback shows her younger self refusing to abandon her doomed planet, showcasing her bravery and selflessness. In the climax, after Earth Eleven's final victory, she steps onto a balcony and addresses all the spectators, revealing the truth that the Grand Celesta Galaxy tournament was created to save the galaxy. When Ozrock betrays her and tries to seize the completed cannon, she realizes she was deceived, but her ultimate goal is achieved when the black hole is finally erased. She tearfully says goodbye to Potomuri as his spirit finally departs after fulfilling his mission.
In terms of notable abilities, Katra does not play soccer herself, but she possesses unique supernatural traits. She can appear and disappear at will, often materializing only to specific people like Tenma while being invisible to others. She can take the form of a guiding light and enter the dreams of others to communicate with them. Her knowledge of the “fragments of hope” and the Life Energy that powers the Cosmic Plasma Photon Cannon, which is born from the clash of strong wills, underscores her deep understanding of the metaphysical forces that shape her galaxy. In the video game adaptation, she can be recruited as a forward with the Wind element.
