Movie
Description
Millo, also known as Cilan in English, is a young Pokémon Connoisseur who accompanies Ash Ketchum and Iris in their travels through the Unova region. In the movie, he visits the newly built Pokémon Hills nature park in New Tork City together with his companions, where they witness the arrival of a group of Genesect. Millo’s background is that he is one of the three Gym Leaders of Striaton City, specializing in Grass‑type Pokémon. He aspires to become the greatest Pokémon Connoisseur, a profession that allows him to assess the compatibility between Trainers and their Pokémon and to offer advice on strengthening their bond.

His personality is observant, analytical, and polite, often framing situations in terms of taste or quality. He remains calm under pressure and shows a keen interest in the well‑being of all Pokémon. During the events of the film, he is motivated by a desire to understand the lost Genesect and to help resolve the conflict that arises when the Genesect attempt to claim Pokémon Hills as their home. His role in the story is primarily supportive: he helps Ash and Iris navigate the situation, provides thoughtful commentary on the interactions between Pokémon, and assists in practical ways such as working to extinguish a fire that threatens the park. He does not engage in direct combat with the Genesect, but he uses his knowledge and teamwork to aid the other characters.

Key relationships include his friendship with Ash and Iris, with whom he shares a close bond from their journey. He also interacts with Eric, the park ranger, and shows empathy toward the solitary Genesect that befriends Ash. Millo respects Mewtwo, acknowledging its power and its connection to the Genesect, but he maintains a calm and diplomatic stance. Throughout the movie, his development is subtle: he reinforces his understanding that Pokémon have complex emotions and histories, and he demonstrates the value of cooperation over confrontation.

Notable abilities include his skill as a Pokémon Connoisseur, which enables him to read the dynamics between Trainers and their Pokémon. He is also an accomplished cook, capable of preparing food that improves his Pokémon’s condition. In battle, his partner is Pansage, a Grass‑type Pokémon, although in this movie he does not engage in major battles except in scenes of group effort. His logical approach and dedication to helping others make him a steady presence during the unfolding events.
