Description
Paline, also romanized as Parine, is a supporting character in the anime Kami-sama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama. He is a male Cocotama, a kind of small apprentice god born from an object that a person has cherished and used with care. Paline came into being together with his twin sister Sarine, sometimes written as Saline, from a bottle of rinse-in shampoo kept in the bathroom of the Yotsuba household, which is why the pair are known as the Shampoo Gods. His gender is indicated by the jagged upper edge of his eggshell underpants, and his full god name is Refreshing Tsuya-Tsuya Wash-no-Mikoto. He has a pale blue, bull-like appearance, and the mark on his underpants is an indigo raindrop with a cornflower-blue heart sparkle in the middle.
In terms of background, Paline is one of the Cocotamas who come to live with the human girl Kokoro in the special house prepared for the group. He and his sister were not part of the original group of spirits; they joined the household later as supporting members. Because they were born from a shampoo bottle that the family used regularly and kept in good condition, their domain is washing and hair care.
