Yuri Shiratori is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on August 20, 1968, in Kanagawa Prefecture. She made her professional voice acting debut in 1989, with her first role being Hilda in the anime series Madö King Granzört. She is currently affiliated with the talent agency 81 Produce, having moved there in July 2005 from her previous agency, ARTSVISION.
Shiratori is known for her distinctive, transparent vocal quality, often described as childlike and pure, which has earned her the nickname silver voice among fans. Over a career spanning more than three decades, she has built an extensive filmography, lending her voice to a wide variety of characters, from gentle heroines and magical creatures to comedic roles. Many of her early and most iconic roles were recorded during the 1990s and 2000s.
Her repertoire includes several major and long-running franchises. She is well-known for voicing Yukina in the classic series Yu Yu Hakusho and Yukime in Hell Teacher Nūbē. She played the dual role of the fairy Mokona and the character Primera in Magic Knight Rayearth and was the voice of Cherry in the Saber Marionette J series. In the early 2000s, she took on the role of Maria Robotnik in the Sonic X anime and the video game Sonic Adventure 2. She also voiced Emiri Kimidori in the 2006 adaptation of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Shiratori has been a recurring presence in the long-running franchise Mahō Sensei Negima!, voicing the ghostly student Sayo Aisaka across multiple OVAs, television series, and the 2011 film.
