Mocchi is a small pink monster who serves as one of the central protagonists in the Monster Rancher anime. He is born when the human protagonist Genki Sakura is transported to the monster world, and Genki’s video game compact disc functions as a Mystery Disc, releasing Mocchi from it. Mocchi is extremely young at the time of his appearance, roughly two months old, and communicates primarily through simple sounds and phrases such as “Mocchi,” “Chi,” or “Mocchi hungry.” Despite his infant-like demeanor, he possesses a brave and good-hearted nature, and he quickly becomes Genki’s closest companion and battle partner. His innocent, cute appearance often causes enemies to underestimate him, but he proves to be a formidable fighter with untapped potential.
