Her role in the story is primarily that of a supportive mother, providing a stable backdrop for Kokoro's adventures with the Cocotama. While she is unaware of the Cocotama's existence, one of these small gods, Kirarise, was born from a treasured lipstick that Misato used, indicating the depth of care she puts into her personal belongings. Her key relationships are with her husband Koichi, her daughter Kokoro, and her son Makoto, with whom she shares a close and affectionate bond. She does not undergo major personal development in the series but functions as a consistent source of warmth and stability. She does not possess any supernatural abilities; her notable traits are her practical skills in sewing and knitting, as well as her gentle and dependable presence within the Yotsuba household.
