Description
Kokoro Yotsuba is the main human protagonist of Kami-sama Minarai Himitsu no Cocotama. She is a fifth grader living in the seaside town of Aozora with her father Koichi, her mother Misato, and her younger brother Makoto. Her grandmother Haruko Yachigusa taught her that all objects possess a soul, which instilled in her a deep respect for her belongings and the world around her.

Kokoro is a kind-hearted and friendly girl who is often clumsy but always tries her best. She is bright and makes an effort to befriend everyone she meets, though she can sometimes act too quickly without fully considering the consequences. Kokoro is not easily upset, even when those around her cause trouble. Her main motivation is her wish to become a less clumsy and more capable girl.

Her role in the story begins when she discovers LuckyTama, a small god born from her treasured colored pencil set. She signs a secret contract with him, becoming his caretaker and promising never to reveal the Cocotamas existence to anyone. She serves as the landlord of the Cocotama House, a special home built for the growing number of Cocotamas that come under her care, including Melory, Oshaki, and Geracho.

Her key relationships include her partner LuckyTama, who knows her better than anyone, and the other Cocotamas living with her. She also forms strong bonds with her fellow human contractors Nozomi and Hikari. Although she and Nozomi initially clash over their different styles of fulfilling their duties, they develop a deep friendship. Kokoro relies on her family for support while guarding the Cocotama secret.

Throughout the series, Kokoro develops greater confidence and responsibility. She discovers her own way of helping others and contributing to the Cocotamas journey to become full gods. Her notable abilities include playing the piano, a talent connected to Melorys birth, and her unique role as a human contractor who can perceive the Cocotamas. Her dedication to caring for the gods born from cherished items is the driving force of her character.
