Description
Atra Mixta is a young woman from the Martian city of Chryse who becomes a pivotal member of the private security company Tekkadan, primarily serving as its head cook. Her background is one of profound poverty and hardship. Before her association with Tekkadan, she was forced to work as a cleaner in a strip club in the slums, where she was frequently bullied by the adult performers. Desperate and starving after running away, a ten-year-old Atra collapsed on the street, where she was found by Mikazuki Augus. He used his own meager funds to buy her food and, more importantly, arranged for her to work at a shop owned by a kind woman named Haba. Under Haba's care, Atra learned to read and write, a skill uncommon among the children of Chryse. Her job making deliveries to the Chryse Guard Security (CGS) group also allowed her to learn how to drive at a very young age.

Personality-wise, Atra is defined by her resilience, kindness, and a quiet but formidable inner strength forged by her difficult past. She is deeply caring and nurturing, which naturally translates into her role as the group's cook, as she finds satisfaction in supporting others through her work. Despite her gentle and often shy demeanor, she possesses a strong will and is not afraid to take decisive action. Her primary motivation throughout the story is her love for Mikazuki Augus, whom she views as her savior. This love evolves from a childhood crush into a profound, selfless devotion. She is driven by a desire to protect him and to create a place of warmth and normalcy for him and the other members of Tekkadan, who live brutal lives as child soldiers.

Her role in the story is that of an emotional anchor and a symbol of the domestic life the soldiers of Tekkadan are fighting to protect. Initially a peripheral figure who delivers supplies to CGS, she formally joins the newly formed Tekkadan as its cook when the boys leave Mars, wanting to stay by Mikazuki's side. While not a fighter, her role is crucial for the group's morale and logistics. Her bravery is tested when she is mistaken for Kudelia Aina Bernstein during a mission and is captured and beaten. To protect the real Kudelia, she maintains the facade, demonstrating immense courage under pressure.

Her key relationships define her character arc. Her bond with Mikazuki Augus is the most significant. She makes the bracelet he always wears, a symbol of their connection. As Mikazuki sacrifices his body to pilot his Gundam, Atra’s anguish grows, leading her to a desperate plan. On the eve of the final battle, she confesses her love to him and they consummate their relationship with the shared goal of conceiving a child, giving him a future to fight for and a reason to survive. Her relationship with Kudelia Aina Bernstein is equally important. She initially sees the noblewoman as a rival for Mikazuki's affections. However, after meeting the Turbines, a group with a polyamorous family structure, Atra comes to accept and even embrace the idea of sharing her life with both Kudelia and Mikazuki, declaring that they are all a family.

Over the course of the narrative, Atra undergoes significant development. She transforms from a shy, love-struck girl into a decisive young woman who takes control of her future. Her most notable action is proposing to Kudelia that they both have Mikazuki’s child, a plan born not from jealousy but from a shared fear of losing him and a desire to give him a reason to live. Her abilities are largely domestic and practical, but they are exceptional. She is a skilled cook, resourceful, and a fast learner, having mastered literacy and driving in her youth. More importantly, she has a keen emotional intelligence, often being the only one who can sense Mikazuki's subtle mood changes. In the end, Mikazuki dies in battle, but Atra gives birth to his son, Akatsuki. She fulfills their wish for a family, raising her child on a farm with Kudelia, who is confirmed to have married Atra, creating the future they had all hoped for.
