Description
Jun Moritsuna is a significant supporting character introduced during the story arc involving the Hiyou, or婢妖, which are parasitic demons serving the primary antagonist. Her role is intrinsically linked to the crisis surrounding her older brother, Moritsuna Satoru, who is a prominent candidate chosen to wield the Beast Spear.

Jun is depicted as the younger sister of Satoru. Her character is defined by a deep, loving, but complicated bond with her brother. She carries the emotional weight of a traumatic incident from their past, where Satoru, struggling to control his considerable spiritual powers, inadvertently frightened her while saving her from a low-level yokai. This event caused Jun to recoil from him, an act that left both siblings with lasting feelings of guilt and regret. Her primary motivation throughout her introduction is her desire to properly thank her brother for protecting her that day and to reconcile with him, a wish she was never able to fulfill before his possession.

When Satoru is taken over by the Hiyou and becomes a hostile threat, Jun is shown to be desperate and distraught. She initially blames Ushio for her brother's suffering, reflecting her fear and helplessness. However, she eventually becomes a key participant in the dangerous plan to save him. To enter Satoru's mind and destroy the lead Hiyou, Ushio requires the assistance of someone with potent spiritual energy. Jun's strong feelings for her brother grant her the necessary mental strength, or the power of yang, to aid Ushio, Tora, and the yokai Izuna in their internal battle. Her desperate love for Satoru is the crucial element that helps draw him out from the control of the demon.

Jun does not possess any overt combative abilities like the other Beast Spear candidates. Her primary capability is her powerful spiritual presence and emotional connection, which proves vital in a non-physical confrontation. She demonstrates significant personal courage by confronting her brother's possessed form and later by entering his psyche to face the monstrous Hiyou leader, Chibakama.

Throughout the arc, Jun undergoes a clear development from a grief-stricken and accusatory sister to a proactive and determined individual. After the successful rescue of her brother, she reconciles not only with Satoru but also with Ushio, acknowledging his selfless role in saving them both. While her role is centered on this specific storyline, her introduction serves to highlight the human cost of the struggle against Hakumen no Mono and further establishes Ushio's unwavering determination to save people, regardless of the personal risk.
