Description
Guren is a formidable antagonist who appears as a monstrous, black-furred entity bearing a striking and menacing resemblance to the central character Tora. His origins are deeply tragic and dark, revealing that he was not always a beast. Before his transformation, he was a human man named Soukei, a vicious and black-hearted thief who rampaged across Japan murdering countless innocent people for his own pleasure and profit. Approximately 1700 years before the main events of the story, Soukei discovered the legendary Beast Spear, an object of immense power that eventually consumes the soul of its wielder. Unlike others who may have used the spear for noble purposes, Soukei embraced its power to continue his killing spree, relishing the thrill of murder until his humanity was completely devoured, leaving behind the monstrous being known as Guren.
Guren's personality is defined by an absolute and unquenchable love for slaughter and cruelty. As a human, he was already a merciless murderer, and his transformation into a monster only stripped away the last vestiges of his humanity, allowing his bloodlust to flourish without any moral restraint. He is a sadistic and cold-blooded being who has spent centuries hunting and devouring humans, including men, women, and children, simply for the enjoyment of it.
