TV-Series
Description
Mira Yurizaki is a highly advanced android created by Seira and Shidou Yurizaki, designed to resemble a teenage girl with a slim frame. She possesses short green hair and green eyes, and her appearance includes distinctive robotic headgear and a metallic tail, which mark her as non-human despite her insistence otherwise. She becomes a member of the Recovery House, where she works as the partner and companion of Kyouma Mabuchi, a Collector tasked with confiscating illegal Coils.
Her personality is characterized by a strong desire to be seen as a normal girl, often displaying childlike innocence and curiosity. She mimics human mannerisms in an effort to connect with others emotionally and struggles against the stigma of being a machine. Her primary motivation stems from loyalty to her father, Shidou Yurizaki, whose apparent death drives her to assist Kyouma in recovering illegal Coils, hoping to honor his memory.
In the story, Mira serves as Kyouma's ally and moral anchor. She accompanies him on missions, using her unique abilities to override computer systems, interface directly with Coils through her tail, and detect dimensional distortions. These skills make her invaluable in high-technology environments and critical moments involving anomalous energy sources.
Key relationships include her bond with Kyouma, which grows from a reluctant partnership into a deep mutual trust. Her creators, Seira and Shidou Yurizaki, define her origins and purpose. It is later revealed that her body was originally built for Kyouma's deceased lover, Miyabi, whose failed surgery due to a malfunctioning Coil ended her life. This connection adds layers to Mira's identity and her relationship with Kyouma.
Over the course of the series, Mira undergoes significant development. After sustaining damage, a repair by Koorogi adds skin folds to conceal her Coil, symbolizing her struggle to blend into humanity. Later, when her own Coil goes berserk while trying to save Kyouma, she encounters Shidou, who provides her with a new Coil and instructs her to live on and learn about human hearts. This experience leaves her confused but marks a turning point. By the end, her Coil skips a beat when she sees Elizabeth crying over her father's death, suggesting that she has begun to develop something akin to a human heart and emotional understanding.
Her notable abilities extend beyond technical hacking and interface: she can sense and identify dimensional anomalies, a skill crucial for navigating the dangers of illegal Coils. While her mechanical nature gives her advanced capabilities, she also requires external repairs and upgrades, highlighting her vulnerability. Mira's journey is one of self-discovery, as she grapples with her identity between machine and human, ultimately moving toward a deeper comprehension of emotion and connection.
