TV-Series
Description
Hikari Sakurada is the seventh child and fifth daughter of the Sakurada royal family. As an elementary school student who is around ten to eleven years old, she is characterized by a naive, air-headed, and cheerful personality. Known for a lively disposition and a frequent, big smile, Hikari is straightforward and rarely afraid to speak her mind. She can be slightly spoiled and childish, but when she says something offensive, she is quick to apologize for it. Her exuberant nature makes her the polar opposite of her more camera-shy siblings, as she loves being on television and actively seeks out opportunities to appeal to citizens whenever she passes a camera.

Hikari possesses a unique ability known as God Hand, which allows her to increase or reverse the growth of a living being for a duration of 24 hours. She frequently uses this power on herself to change her appearance, notably aging herself up to that of a middle schooler or a more glamorous, mature form. While her control over the range of her ability can be immature, she shows capacity for growth in its use. This power is practical as well, as she can use it to grow tall enough to rescue a cat from a tree, though such problem-solving occasionally overlooks simpler solutions.

Hikari's central motivation within the story is her ambition to become an idol. She performs under the stage name Sakuraba Raito and is deeply invested in this career. Her desire for attention and praise fuels her activities, making her enthusiastic about the royal election not necessarily for political power, but for the popularity and recognition it brings. Despite her generally carefree attitude, Hikari demonstrates a capacity for serious effort. When she applies herself, she achieves tangible results; this is seen in both her academic performance, where she can score in the ninetieth percentile after focused study, and in her rigorous idol training, through which she earns the respect of her peers.

In terms of key relationships, Hikari shares a close bond with her twin brother, Teru, although their personalities contrast notably, with Teru being quieter in nature. Her relationships extend outside her family as well. She shows significant affection towards an associate named Sachiko, often expressing this through holding her hand, hugging her, and inviting her to the Sakurada home. When Sachiko was injured during a concert and felt embarrassed, Hikari assisted her and covered her part, an act that helped deepen their friendship. Regarding her family, like all the Sakurada siblings, she is under the watch of surveillance cameras as part of their public royal life. Her favorite ruler is Maria Theresa, whom she admires.

Throughout the series, Hikari shows development primarily in her dedication. While initially motivated simply by a love of praise, she finds a deeper appreciation for her idol activities and works hard enough to gain recognition from her peers. There is also nuance to her seemingly simple personality; while she admires the king as cool and does not seem to take him very seriously, she steps up and does her best when confronted with serious work, proving that her air-headedness is not a lack of capability.
