TV-Series
Description
Iris Shirasaki is a third-year student at Kirishina Academy and serves as the poster girl and test pilot for the advanced development program known as A-TEC. Her appearance is characterized by purple hair styled in a stacked bob cut and lavender eyes. At eighteen years old, she is a key member of the program, though her role is more than just an attractive figurehead for promotional materials.

Regarding her background, Iris suffers from amnesia, having lost her memories of events that occurred approximately ten years prior to the story for unknown reasons. It is eventually revealed that she comes from a family that has served the Shinamiya family for generations. A significant revelation is that her real identity is Nagisa Shinamiya, making her the true heir to that family line. As a child, she was close friends with a boy named Nagisa Kiryu, who promised to protect her after her family was killed.

In terms of personality, Iris is generally quiet and reserved. She can also be quite reckless, a trait that manifests most clearly in her complete lack of safety consciousness. This is particularly evident in her daily commute to school, where she rides her bike at dangerous speeds, setting a new personal course record each day, much to the concern of her friends who constantly caution her to be careful. Despite her dangerous riding, she seems to believe she is driving safely. These traits carry over into her professional life as a test pilot, where she is known for taking risks with her vehicle operations.

Iris holds a central role in the A-TEC team thanks to her incredible flying skills, which are far from superficial. Her job is to pilot and test the experimental spacecraft developed by her colleagues. One of her primary motivations for joining A-TEC stems from her friendship with Mizuki Sera, as she joined the program simply because Mizuki suggested it. This loyalty to her friends is a key driving force for her actions.

Her most crucial relationship is with the male lead, Nagisa Kiryu. The connection between them is deeply rooted in their shared past. As the story progresses, the truth about her lost memories and her real identity as the true Nagisa Shinamiya emerges, creating a complex dynamic. Angelina, another character, suggests that Iris had met Nagisa previously, further hinting at their intertwined history. After regaining her memories, she realizes that Nagisa Kiryu had been working to protect her all along, and she develops romantic feelings for him in return.

Throughout the series, Iris undergoes significant development, primarily through her struggle with her lost past. As she begins to recall fragments of her memories, she experiences psychological distress, including panic attacks while in the pilot's cockpit. This fear becomes a major obstacle she must overcome. Her arc culminates when she fully recovers her memories during a test flight, an event that allows her to understand her true origins and her place in the conflict surrounding the Shinamiya and Kiryu families. This personal crisis enables her to ultimately confront her fears and take action to save Nagisa when he is in danger.

As a notable ability, Iris possesses exceptional piloting skills that are highly regarded within the program. Her talent for maneuvering advanced spacecraft in high-stakes test flights is her primary contribution to the team, making her an indispensable asset to A-TEC despite her quiet demeanor and reckless tendencies outside the cockpit.
