Description
Randy Hooke is a minor supporting character in the anime The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water. He is a student at Seidoukan Academy, one of the five major academies in the series, and he is most commonly seen in the company of Lester MacPhail, a fellow student of the same academy. He is regarded as one of Lester's close associates, and his appearances are largely tied to Lester's activities within the school.

In appearance, Randy is a short and somewhat chubby young man with dirty blond hair and small eyes. His hair is cut to about ear length, and he has gray eyes. He wears the standard uniform of Seidoukan Academy, and his overall look is plain and unassuming, consistent with his role as a background figure among the student body.

Personality-wise, Randy is timid and easily startled. He often seems afraid or on high alert, and he rarely carries himself with confidence or assertiveness. His most defining trait is his loyalty to Lester MacPhail. He consistently follows and supports Lester, deferring to him and accompanying him in whatever he does, even when the situation makes him visibly nervous. His nervous demeanor and devotion to Lester shape nearly every scene in which he appears.

Randy's role in the story is limited to that of a supporting presence. He does not take part in the main conflicts, does not compete in the major tournaments known as the Festa, and does not have an independent storyline of his own. Instead, his function is to round out Lester MacPhail's social circle and to illustrate how Lester behaves around the people who follow him. He acts as an observer and follower rather than an active participant in the plot.

His key relationship is with Lester MacPhail. Randy is portrayed as a loyal friend and follower of Lester, and the two are often shown together around Seidoukan Academy. He has no significant connections to the main cast, and his interactions with other characters are limited to scenes that involve Lester. His personal motivations are not explored in depth, as the story treats him purely as an extension of Lester's group. Likewise, he does not undergo any notable character development over the course of the series, remaining a static background figure defined by his anxious nature and his faithfulness to his friend. No special abilities or combat skills are attributed to him, and he does not stand out in the competitive environment of the academy.
