Description
Miyako Shirakaba, a civilian student without magical prowess, emerges as an unlikely pivotal figure amid supernatural conflicts. Born into affluence yet overshadowed by her brother’s academic accolades, she endures familial neglect—exemplified when her mother replaces Miyako’s handmade picture frame with her brother’s trophies. This emotional void leaves her vulnerable to manipulation, culminating in Uta Komagawa exploiting her insecurities to claim her Fragment during a critical despair spiral.

Channeling resilience, Miyako becomes the Reflectors’ staunch non-combat ally, grounding their mission to shield others from emotional predators. Her near-loss of her Fragment fuels her resolve to prioritize protection over power. In a defining clash, she defends Shino’s purged Fragment from Uta, choosing a frying pan over Momo Tanabe’s cherished nuka pot—a testament to her pragmatic loyalty.

Though she struggles with self-doubt, openly admitting envy toward the Reflectors’ magical capabilities, her allies consistently affirm her irreplaceable role: their battles hinge on her steadfastness. By the narrative’s end, Miyako transcends her insecurities, declaring freedom from comparisons to her brother or magical peers. Her growth manifests in actions—repeatedly thwarting Uta with ingenuity and offering solace to fractured souls.

Her arc subverts magical girl conventions by championing heroism through mundane tools and raw emotional resolve. From a neglected daughter haunted by inadequacy, she evolves into a self-assured force, proving ordinary determination can ignite change as profoundly as any spell.
