Description
Piyocola Analogue III, commonly known as Piyoko, is an eight-year-old alien princess from the impoverished Planet Analogue and the chief of the Black Gema Gema Corps. Her parents placed her in the care of the group members Rik, Ky, and Coo until she turns thirteen, as they were too embarrassed to show their faces after their own attempt to conquer Planet Di Gi Charat failed. Piyoko herself was forced to flee to Earth after an accident in which she blew up a city and could not pay for the repairs, leaving her homeworld in a desperate financial state.
In terms of personality, Piyoko is headstrong, determined, and endearingly clumsy in her efforts. She is driven by a sincere desire to help her destitute homeworld, which fuels her central motivation: kidnapping Di Gi Charat, also known as Dejiko, and holding her for ransom in order to restore Planet Analogue's economy. Despite her serious ambitions, her schemes consistently backfire, and she rarely succeeds in her plans. Her speech habits reflect her quirky nature, as she ends her sentences with the verbal tic "pyo," and her black-and-white nurse-style dress gives her a panda-like appearance.
Within the story, Piyoko serves as the main rival and frequent antagonist to Dejiko, repeatedly attempting to capture her and repeatedly failing in comic fashion. Her relationship with Dejiko is defined by this ongoing conflict, though their clashes are played for humor rather than genuine malice. Her day-to-day life involves directing Rik, Ky, and Coo, who act as her loyal but often inept underlings, and who support her in her ransom schemes. These companions also serve as her surrogate family in the absence of her parents.
Piyoko's most notable ability is the Upchuck Bazooka, an energy beam fired from her mouth that is comparable to Dejiko's Laser Eye Beam attack. However, whenever she tries to use it against Dejiko, she frequently ends up being the one who gets hit or otherwise suffers the consequences of her own attack. Over the course of her appearances, she remains a persistent but sympathetic figure, defined less by genuine villainy than by her poverty-driven desperation and her inability to overcome her more successful rival.
