Nami Yamigumo is a sixteen-year-old member of the Attacked Mystification Police Department, commonly known as the AMP. She comes from a long line of Shinto priests and exorcists, and her family owns a shrine located three hundred meters underground. As the heir to this tradition, Nami possesses a calm and tranquil disposition, often serving as the most composed and orderly member of the team. She is frequently shown tidying up after her more rambunctious colleagues, reflecting her neat and disciplined nature. Her motivations are rooted in her family's duty to combat malevolent interdimensional beings called Lucifer Hawks, and she joined the AMP early in its formation, becoming one of Rally Cheyenne's first recruits alongside Kiddy Phenil and Lebia Maverick. In the story, Nami plays a supportive yet effective role, using her inherited spiritual abilities to detect and fight Lucifer Hawks. She wields two of the five sacred relics of the Yamigumo family: the Kirin Dagger and the White Tiger Sword. Her combat techniques include the use of holy water and ofuda, paper talismans inscribed with kanji, which she employs against the creatures. She has a natural ability to sense the presence of Lucifer Hawks nearby, making her an invaluable scout. Nami typically wears a kimono rather than the standard AMP uniform, emphasizing her traditional background. Her key relationships within the group are with her fellow officers; she works closely with Kiddy and Lebia and later assists in rescuing the newer recruit Katsumi Liqueur during a critical encounter. Over the course of the film, Nami's loyalty and bravery are demonstrated as she risks her life to protect her teammates and fulfill her inherited responsibility. Her development is subtle but consistent, as she moves from a background role to a more active participant in the front-line battles, solidifying her place as a steadfast member of the AMP.
