Shoichet's career in anime voice acting began in the early 2000s. One of her earliest prominent roles was taking over the character of Sota Higurashi in the popular series Inuyasha, after the previous voice actor moved to the United States. This role led to her voicing other characters in the Inuyasha franchise, including in the films Swords of an Honorable Ruler and Fire on the Mystic Island. Her other significant anime roles include Mayura Labatt in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Caridad Yamato in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, and the title role of Nana Osaki in the drama series Nana. Powerpuff Girls Z, she provided the voices for both the character Annie and the villainess Sedusa.
Beyond anime, Shoichet has built an extensive portfolio in Western animation. She gained widespread recognition for her work in the My Little Pony franchise. Starting with My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, she became the singing voice for the main character Twilight Sparkle and later voiced the character Sunset Shimmer, a role that expanded significantly in the Equestria Girls film series and subsequent specials. Her other animation credits include voicing Jane in the Netflix series Tarzan and Jane, She-Hulk in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, Agent Brand in Astonishing X-Men, Queen Lorelei in Barbie: The Pearl Princess, and various characters in series such as Kid vs. Kat, Bob the Builder, and Supernoobs. Her work in the 2020s includes voicing Captain Marvel in Lego Marvel Avengers: Climate Conundrum and the Marvel Battleworld web series.
In addition to voice acting, Shoichet is an accomplished singer. She has performed with several Vancouver-based bands, including Mimosa, Side One, and Soulstream. Her musical talents are frequently integrated into her voice acting roles, particularly within the My Little Pony franchise. She has also been active in theater productions at the Vancouver Playhouse and has served as a part-time instructor at the On The Mic Training voice-over school in Vancouver. In 2017, her performance in the series Super Monsters earned her a BTVA People's Choice Award for Best Female Vocal Performance in a TV Special/Direct-to-DVD Title. Shoichet has had frequent recurring collaborations with other Vancouver-based voice actors, including Tabitha St. Germain, Ashleigh Ball, and Tara Strong, particularly on the My Little Pony series and related projects.
