OVA
Description
Majorika is a central figure in the world of Ojamajo Doremi Na-i-sho. Originally a witch who ran a mysterious antique shop called the Maho-do, her life changed forever when a young girl named Doremi Harukaze correctly identified her as a witch. This discovery triggered a magical law that transformed Majorika into a small, green, frog-like creature known as a majogaeru. To break this spell and regain her original human form, Majorika was forced to take on Doremi as a witch apprentice, as only a witch she personally trains can reverse the transformation.

Within the narrative of the Ojamajo Doremi Na-i-sho OVA, which is set during the events of the third television series, Majorika serves as the strict yet caring mentor and instructor for the young apprentice witches. Her role is pivotal, as she assigns the girls tasks that are designed to test their teamwork, creativity, and understanding of magic. She emphasizes the importance of learning from mistakes and uses the challenges the apprentices face as valuable lessons in responsibility and the ethical use of magic. Despite her sometimes demanding demeanor, her guidance is essential for Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko, Onpu, and Momoko as they work towards their goal of becoming full-fledged witches.

Majorika's personality is defined by her predicament and her role as a teacher. She is often portrayed as impatient and easily exasperated, a reaction largely due to Doremi's initial clumsiness and the troublesome nature of having to manage several young apprentices. Her nickname for Doremi, ojamajo, which means "troublesome witch," perfectly encapsulates her initial frustration. However, beneath her prickly exterior lies a genuine care for the girls' well-being and development. Her motivation is twofold: to finally break the spell upon her by ensuring Doremi becomes a powerful witch, and to properly train the next generation, a task she approaches with a serious sense of duty.

Her key relationships are almost entirely with her apprentices, particularly Doremi. The bond between Majorika and Doremi is the most significant, as they are magically linked by the condition of Majorika's curse. As the series progresses, Majorika's development becomes apparent in her growing trust and faith in the girls. While she begins as a demanding taskmaster, she evolves into a reliable source of wisdom and support, watching over the apprentices as they face personal dilemmas and magical mishaps. In terms of abilities, Majorika is a highly knowledgeable and experienced witch, possessing a deep understanding of magical theory, spells, and the rules of the Witch World. Although her power is severely limited in her frog form, her wisdom and experience remain intact, allowing her to effectively instruct her young charges.
