Description
Hyouma is a recurring character introduced as a mysterious and intellectual blader who serves as a childhood friend of the main protagonist, Gingka, and later becomes a major ally. He is a tall, slim-built teenager with pale skin, bright blue eyes, and shaggy light violet hair. His attire typically consists of a pink v-neck with an orange collar, a blue-green jacket left unzipped, brown fingerless gloves, brown pants, and brown hiking boots.

Hyouma was born and raised in the sacred town of Koma Village alongside Gingka. In their youth, they frequently battled at a location known as Green Hades, where Hyouma consistently defeated his friend, earning him the title of Gingka's original number one rival. After Gingka left the village, Hyouma took on the solemn duty of becoming its guardian, responsible for protecting the secluded town from outsiders.

In keeping with his role as a guardian, Hyouma has a very zealous and serious personality regarding his responsibilities. He takes his duty to protect Koma Village extremely seriously and has no qualms about using deception and manipulation to achieve this goal. He is a highly skilled and persuasive liar, often adopting multiple fake personalities to deceive people. When he first encounters travelers searching for his village, he pretends to be an oddball or feigns ignorance to test their trustworthiness. In a battle against Gingka, he even adopted an insane persona to motivate his friend to fight at his best. Beneath these deceptive layers, Hyouma is later shown to be a soft-spoken, calm, and typically timid person who rarely displays strong emotion. He is very level-headed and cautious, especially compared to Gingka's more upbeat and headstrong nature.

Hyouma's primary motivation is the safety and protection of Koma Village. This drives his initial deceptive behavior when strangers like Kenta, Madoka, Kyoya, and Benkei come looking for Gingka. He leads them in circles, pretending to be a guide, solely to test their intentions and ensure they are true friends of Gingka worthy of entering the village. Only once they prove their spirit in beyblade battles does he genuinely guide them to his home. Beyond his duty as guardian, he is also motivated by a desire for worthy challenges and friendly rivalry, particularly the chance to battle Gingka again.

In the story, Hyouma appears as a recurring ally. After reuniting with Gingka, he challenges him to a final battle at Green Hades to see if his friend has grown stronger. He is pleased when Gingka finally defeats him using a new strategy, and he encourages Gingka to continue getting stronger with his friends. Hyouma later leaves the village to participate in the Survival Battle tournament, hoping to earn a rematch with Gingka. He uses a strategic approach, waiting out opponents to conserve energy, until he is discovered and defeated by Kyoya. Despite this loss, he continues to compete in the qualifying rounds for the larger Battle Bladers tournament, facing powerful opponents like Yu and Tsubasa. His journey culminates in his first-round match against the cruel Reiji Mizuchi, a battle that horrifies him and results in the destruction of his beyblade, though he later recovers from the trauma.

Key relationships define Hyouma's character. His most significant bond is with his childhood friend, Gingka. While he is a caring and loyal friend, their history is rooted in a fierce rivalry, and he initially feels a hint of jealousy upon seeing how close Gingka has become with new friends like Kyoya. He also develops a respectful rivalry with Kyoya after their intense battle in the Survival Battle, recognizing Kyoya's strength and strategic mind. Hyouma often acts as a senior figure to younger bladers like Kenta, testing his skills and battling alongside him.

Throughout the series, Hyouma experiences notable development. He transitions from a secluded guardian who relies on deception to isolate his village, to an active competitor who trusts and fights alongside a wider circle of friends. His self-imposed isolation gives way to a more open role as an ally in the larger blading community. His confidence as a blader is also challenged, as he faces a series of defeats that humble him and push him to improve.

As a blader, Hyouma possesses several notable abilities. Strategic thinking is his greatest asset; he is a master of reading his opponents and using psychological tactics to gain an advantage, such as deceiving Kenta during their match. His skills are honed by the natural terrain of his home, and he is adept at using environmental features, like forest stadiums, to his benefit. He is the owner of Rock Aries ED145B, a defense-type beyblade. His special moves include the Sheep Horn Throw and Gone With the Wind. His beyblade's design allows for exceptional defensive capabilities, which he uses to outlast and outmaneuver his opponents. However, his calm and analytical fighting style can be shattered by opponents who use overwhelming brutality or psychological warfare, as seen in his devastating loss to Reiji.
