Description
Louise Halevy is a civilian turned soldier who appears in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer, set two years after the second season of the series. Born into a wealthy Spanish family, she originally studied aeronautical engineering as an exchange student in Japan, where she began a relationship with her classmate Saji Crossroad. Her carefree and somewhat spoiled demeanor masked a deep affection for her family and for Saji, though she often expressed it through possessive and demanding behavior.
Her life was shattered when Nena Trinity, a pilot of the Gundam Throne, attacked a wedding Halevy was attending. The attack killed her entire family and cost Halevy her left hand, which could not be regenerated due to the lingering effects of red GN particles. Traumatized and consumed by a desire for revenge, she broke off her relationship with Saji and eventually joined the A-Laws, an autonomous peacekeeping force, where she became a mobile suit pilot and used her inherited fortune to fund the organization's weapons development. Under the influence of Ribbons Almark, she was given experimental drugs meant to turn her into an Innovator, which enhanced her physical abilities but slowly deteriorated her body.
During the second season, Halevy piloted mobile suits such as the GN-XIII, the Ahead Smultron, and later the mobile armor Regnant. Her hatred for Celestial Being grew, particularly after learning that Saji was involved with the group, and she nearly killed him in combat before being overcome by memories of their shared past. In the final battle of the series, she was overwhelmed and collapsed, leading to her capture and eventual recovery.
By the time of the movie, Halevy is no longer an active combatant. She is under long-term medical care to reverse the damage caused by the Innovator drugs, and she lives with Saji, attempting to rebuild a normal life. Her mind and health have largely returned to normal, but she suffers from chronic post-traumatic stress disorder and requires regular monitoring. She experiences ominous quantum brainwave sensations that foreshadow the arrival of the Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shape-shifters, and she is present during an encounter with an ELS impersonator at the hospital. Despite her past trauma, she supports Saji when he decides to join the final defense of Earth, and the film concludes with her continuing her recovery in peaceful coexistence with him. Halevy's abilities include her piloting skills, her strategic knowledge gained from military service, and her inherited wealth, which she used to influence the A-Laws' development programs. Her prosthetic arm is a mechanical replacement that restores function lost in the attack that changed her life.
