TV-Series
Description
Yumiko Miroku is a fair-skinned teenager of above-average height, standing at 163 cm, with shoulder-length blonde hair. Two sections of her hair are tied by white bows and curl slightly at the ends. She typically wears the same civilian uniform as others in the Sentinel group, though hers appears white, and she often pairs it with thigh socks and indoor shoes.
Her personality is conceited, competitive, and foolhardy, particularly toward Kusunoki Mebuki, whom she declares her personal rival. Striving to maintain an elegant and graceful appearance, she often assures others she is fine even when injured, and she hides her compassionate feelings behind a facade of pride. Despite her family's fallen status, she takes great pride in her ancestors' achievements and is determined to restore the Miroku name to its former glory through her own efforts.
Yumiko hails from Kochi Prefecture. During Divine Era year 72, the Miroku family assisted the Akamine family in saving many people from terrorist attacks. The family later fell into ruin, and its legacy faded into obscurity. Those aware of the Miroku name, particularly noble families and those affiliated with the Taisha, generally do not hold them in high regard.
She was originally considered a candidate to succeed Minowa Gin's terminal but was eliminated in favor of Miyoshi Karin and Kusunoki Mebuki. In the autumn of Divine Era 300, she was summoned to the Gold Tower after being chosen by the Taisha to serve as a Sentinel.
As a Sentinel, Yumiko is ranked #20 and serves in the offensive squad as a gunner. Despite her refined daily activities, she possesses top physical form and proficient stamina. After achieving Mankai, she wields a large hammer equipped with a jet component that significantly enhances the strength of her strikes.
During initial missions, Yumiko frequently rushes into combat against Stardust, often disregarding orders to prove her worth and surpass Mebuki. Over time, she begins to accompany Mebuki during training and morning runs, where she shares her family's history and her resolve to restore its honor. She gradually develops a mutual, albeit competitive, respect for Mebuki.
Yumiko volunteers to stay behind with Mebuki and Kagajo Suzume to rescue Yamabushi Shizuku and defeat a Scorpion Vertex, sustaining a shoulder injury in the process. In a later mission to retrieve a seed, she pushes Shizuku out of the way and takes the full impact of a Vertex's bombs, resulting in severe injuries that require surgery and leave her unconscious for three days.
She expresses anger at the Taisha's decision to sacrifice Kokudo Aya and participates in the plan to rescue her. After the Sentinels' status is elevated to equal that of the Heroes, Yumiko feels pride in having redeemed her family name. She engages in activities like snowball fights with Suzume and assists Aya in cleaning the tower, often fueling competitive spirits with others.
Yumiko considers Mebuki her biggest rival but gradually comes to see her as more of a companion. She frequently quarrels with Kagajo Suzume but also engages in playful interactions with her. She maintains a proud and somewhat distant demeanor with most other characters, often emphasizing her family name and status.
