Nanappe is one of the seven versions of Nana Suzuki created when an accident with her grandfather’s crystallized rainbow experiment splits Nana into six distinct personality extremes alongside the original. She is known as the hot-tempered Nana or angry Nana. As a fourteen-year-old middle school student, Nanappe embodies the short-fused, combative side of Nana’s personality. She is a tomboy who enjoys fighting and physical exercise, and she is quick to anger. Her appearance features narrow pupils and is associated with the color red, which reflects her fiery disposition.

In terms of background, Nanappe originates from the same core person as the other Nanas, sharing Nana Suzuki’s memories and her long-standing crush on their classmate Yuichi Kamichika. However, where the original Nana is shy and timid, Nanappe expresses that crush through assertive, sometimes aggressive behavior. Her primary motivation is the same as the others: to help the original Nana gain admission to Yuichi’s high school and eventually confess her feelings. Because she is a fragment of the same person, she also deeply cares about the group’s survival, as all seven Nanas must reintegrate within a year or risk vanishing.

Nanappe’s role in the story is that of the action-oriented member of the group. She often takes the lead in physical confrontations, whether against external threats or in the comedic squabbles among the Nanas themselves. Her quick temper and love of fighting frequently cause friction with the more easygoing or intellectual clones, but she never deviates from the shared goal of supporting the original Nana. Key relationships include her bond with the other Nanas, especially the original, whom she sometimes bullies but ultimately protects. She tends to clash with the more laid-back Nanakko and the intellectual Nanasama, yet the group repeatedly demonstrates that they can work together seamlessly when united.

Over the course of the series, Nanappe shows limited but noticeable development. While she remains hot-headed, she learns to cooperate more effectively with her counterparts, especially during the group’s superhero activities as the Nana Rangers. Her notable abilities stem from the red crystal she carries, one of the seven fragments of the original prism. When channeled through the crystal, Nanappe gains superhuman strength, speed, and the power of flight. She also participates in the team’s transformation into the Nana Rangers, where her costume enhances her natural combativeness into a genuine heroic capability. Despite her impulsiveness, she is a loyal and essential part of the seven, embodying the raw energy and courage that the whole group needs to face its challenges.
