Nanapon is one of the six split personalities of Nana Suzuki, created when an experimental crystal from her grandfather’s rainbow-capturing project went awry. She represents the flirtatious, intuitive, and mysterious side of Nana’s personality. Her designated color is purple, and she is sometimes referred to as the sensitive or ghostly Nana due to her interest in spiritual matters and her slightly enigmatic demeanor. Nanapon is bold and enjoys things related to the supernatural, often displaying a playful, teasing attitude. She possesses a crystal that grants her a special ability: she can hypnotize others, and at one point she inadvertently hypnotizes herself while attempting to teach hypnosis to the original Nana. As a middle school student, Nanapon attends school alongside the other versions of Nana, all of whom share a mutual crush on their classmate Yuichi Kamichika. Among the group, she occasionally tries to trick the more laid-back Nanakko. Nanapon’s role in the story is primarily comedic and supportive, contributing to the ensemble’s efforts to navigate daily life, study for high school exams, and manage the complications of their unusual existence. Over the course of the series, she and the other Nanas must also confront the fact that their crystals must be reintegrated within a year, or all of them will disappear.
