Description
Midori Soshizaki is a first-year student at Warabi Seinan High School, playing defensive midfielder and left fullback while wearing the number 4 jersey. Recognized as Japan's third-best middle school player for her position, her technical strengths include precise short and long passing, extensive ground coverage defensively, and dangerous middle-range shots from outside the penalty area. She prioritizes elevating teammates over personal acclaim.

Her appearance features brown twin pigtails, dark brown eyes, and distinctive "maro" eyebrows. On-field, she exhibits passionate competitiveness and blunt outspokenness even toward upperclassmen. Off-field, she embraces a strong otaku identity centered on "Heartthrob Country," quoting it and adopting character-inspired speech, though she flusters if labeled an otaku. This fandom extends to wearing anime-themed wrist cuffs during matches.

Midori began soccer at Todakita Middle School, leading her team to third nationally and securing a U-15 national team spot. Inspired by a childhood interview with Naoko Nomi, she rejected powerhouse Urawa Hosei to join Warabi Seinan. This choice aimed to support former rival Sumire Suō, driven by her conviction that talent should build multiple strong teams rather than cluster at established schools. She previously vowed Sumire would never play alone.

Her relationship with Urawa Hosei's Chika Kirishima—her resentful former middle school senior—remains respectfully maintained despite Chika's coldness. Midori’s rivalry with Sumire evolved into close friendship and on-field partnership. As a de facto leader among first-years, she delivers sharp tactical feedback mid-game. Coach Gorō Fukatsu dubs her "Otaku Mayuge" for her eyebrows and anime passion.

Key events include organizing a futsal fundraiser for team kits, competing in Saitama preliminaries, and facing Kunogi Academy. During a pivotal match against Sumire's middle school team, Midori defended Sumire by shouting, "Don't blame others and say whatever you want when you are the ones being lazy!"—catalyzing their bond. She later explained choosing Warabi by quoting "Heartthrob Country": "the fires of revolution always ignite in the provinces," underscoring her commitment to forging new contenders.
