OVA
Description
Burst appears in the final episode of the original Dangaioh OVA series, acting as an antagonist. His background is tied directly to the protagonist Roll Kran, as Burst is a former comrade from Roll's home planet of Latecia. Before the events of the story, Burst and his partner Flash were responsible for Roll's death, having murdered him while serving together in the same combat unit. This past betrayal is the source of Roll's deep-seated fear of death that he struggles with throughout the series.

As a character, Burst is defined by his treachery and his alliance with the space pirate organization known as the Bunker. He serves under Commander Dartilla and works alongside the resurrected cyborg Gil Berg. When the Dangaioh team travels to Latecia to assist the local resistance against the Bunker, Burst and Flash play a central role in a trap designed to dismantle the team. They work with Gil Berg, who disguises himself as a mercenary named Skeleton, to lure Roll into a false sense of security with his former resistance friends. Once Roll is isolated inside a Bunker base, Burst and Flash reveal themselves, and the shock of seeing his murderers triggers a comatose state in Roll. The pair act on Gil Berg's orders, holding Roll hostage to force Mia Alice to surrender herself.

The primary motivation for Burst appears to be loyalty to the Bunker organization and a cruel enjoyment of tormenting his former ally. When Roll finally overcomes his paralysis and breaks free, Burst and Flash confront the combined Dangaioh in their own mecha, the Rydoll and Blast. They mock Roll by telling him he is about to face death once again, but their psychological warfare proves ineffective against a now-determined opponent. Roll channels the collective energy of his team and traps both Burst and Flash in a devastating Psychic Wave, crushing their mechs and destroying them. This battle serves as the climax of Burst's role in the story, as he is killed in action with no further development or redemption. His notable abilities include piloting a specialized combat mech and working in tandem with Flash to execute coordinated attacks against their enemies.
