Description
Prettz is the central protagonist of the anime Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals and serves as the companion and self-appointed guardian of Linaly, the heroine. He is a teenage boy with blue-green hair that reaches his neck and green eyes, and he dresses in a white shirt, a purple belt, brown pants, black boots, and two red wristbands.
Prettz and Linaly have known each other since childhood, and he carries deep feelings for her, though his way of showing it is often clumsy and blunt. His personality is defined by being loud, impatient, short-tempered, and reckless. He acts on impulse rather than reflection, and his instinctive reaction to any annoyance is humorous aggression, often speaking harshly first and apologizing later. He has little patience for spiritual matters, which sets him apart from Linaly, who tends to seek spiritual solutions. He is drawn into the larger conflict when the crystals come under threat, and he joins Linaly on the quest to recover the stolen crystals and confront the forces behind the villain Deathgyunos. Along the way he works with allies such as the sky pirate Rouge, with whom he initially clashes, and the commander Valkus, cooperating with them in the final assault on the Black Moon. His relationship with Linaly is complicated by her grandfather, who strongly disapproves of Prettz's impulsive nature and suspects he will cause trouble, though the elder eventually acknowledges that Prettz has good qualities.
Over the course of the four episodes, Prettz develops from a hot-headed young man into a genuine hero. He learns to focus his reckless energy and channel it into the discipline needed to face a global threat, and by the final confrontation he proves himself a capable and dependable fighter.
