TV-Series
Description
Minawa Andou, originally designated Code 370, is a cyborg who was created and deployed by the covert organization Management. She first appears in the second season of the series. Her background is marked by fear and loss: she fled from Management to avoid being decommissioned and scrapped like her best friend, Code 369. Alone and without a purpose, she is discovered by the android Mahoro and the human Suguru Misato, who take her into their home. She is given the name Minawa by the family, and the surname Andou is added to match Mahoro's, allowing her to pose as Mahoro's younger sister and attend school alongside Suguru and his friends.

Minawa's personality is defined by a combination of clumsiness, anxiety, and deep-seated longing. She is physically awkward and anemic, frequently tripping or dropping things, and has a persistent habit of apologizing for even the most minor mistakes, even when she is not at fault. Her timid and self-deprecating nature stems from her past as an experimental subject and her desperate desire to be accepted. Her central motivation is the wish to possess a true heart, a concept she believes she lacks due to her artificial origins. This desire is what led Management to recruit her in the first place: she was promised a heart in exchange for gathering intelligence on Mahoro, a more advanced battle android from the rival organization Vesper. However, after integrating into the household, Mahoro helps her understand that her ability to cry and feel emotions already proves she has a heart of her own.

In the story, Minawa serves as a new catalyst for character growth within the established group. Her arrival introduces a new layer of tension, as her original mission as a spy initially creates conflict, but her genuine vulnerability quickly wins over the others. She takes on the role of a younger sister to Mahoro and a maid in training, learning domestic chores and trying to find her place. Her key relationships include her bond with Mahoro, who acts as a mentor and protector; Suguru, who treats her with kindness and gives her a surname; and Toshiya Hamaguchi, a classmate who develops a crush on her and with whom a future relationship is suggested after her healing. Minawa's development involves her gradual acceptance of her own emotions, her growing attachment to her new family, and her ultimate decision to reject Management's manipulation. As the series progresses, it is revealed that her cyborg body is in poor condition from prior experimentation, requiring medical treatment and finally a full recovery. This physical fragility contrasts with the powerful combat cyborgs around her, highlighting her vulnerability and the theme that humanity is not defined by strength.

Notable abilities tied to Minawa are few, as she is not a combat model. She possesses basic cyborg enhancements, but her body has suffered extensive damage, leaving her weak and prone to illness. Her clumsiness is a recurring visible trait, but it also underscores her lack of control over her own body. Ultimately, her greatest ability is her emotional resilience and capacity for change, which allows her to find a loving home and a sense of self beyond her designation as 370.
