Description
Clark Wonderbat, often called by the nickname Wandaba, is a character from Inazuma Eleven GO 2: Chrono Stone who serves as the self-proclaimed great coach of the Tenmas team. Despite his small stature and appearance as a blue teddy bear, he is actually an advanced android from the future. A distinctive visual trait is the meter on his chest, which rises and causes his entire body to turn pink when he becomes overly excited. This is referred to as his "excitement gauge".
In terms of personality, Clark Wonderbat is highly confident and has a strong desire to act as the director and take charge of any situation. He often refers to himself with the honorific "sama," demonstrating his high self-regard. However, this ambition is frequently frustrated, as other characters or even historical figures tend to take his place as coach, leaving him dejected. He also has a distinct mannerism of repeating part of his nickname under pressure. Notably, he dislikes being referred to as a bear and will angrily deny it if someone does so.
Clark Wonderbat's primary motivation is to help restore soccer's history, which is being erased by the organization El Dorado. He operates the Inazuma TM Caravan, a vehicle that functions as a time machine, and wields the Mixi Max Gun, a device capable of fusing a person's aura with that of a powerful historical figure or creature to grant them new abilities. Throughout the story, his role largely involves navigating the team through different time periods and operating the Mixi Max Gun to empower the players.
A key relationship is with the boy Fei Rune. Clark Wonderbat acts as Fei's companion and caretaker, a mission given to him by Dr. Arno. It is later revealed that he took on this duty not just as an assignment, but because Fei was the first person to treat the android as an equal friend, creating a deep bond between them. This relationship leads to a moment of serious character development in episode 44, where Clark Wonderbat reveals his true mission and sincerely asks the team to save Fei through soccer.
In terms of abilities, besides piloting the time caravan, his most notable tool is the Mixi Max Gun. He is also credited with creating the Inalink, a communication system used by the players. In the video game adaptations, he can even be recruited as a playable character, where he possesses an unusually high number of freedom points for customization.
