TV-Series
Description
Masazumi Honda is the vice president of the Musashi Ariadust Academy Student Council and an aspiring politician. She is a main character in both seasons of the series. Her background includes a deeply personal struggle: in order to succeed the family name, she underwent partial gender reassignment surgery, but unknown circumstances forced the process to stop midway. As a result, she retains characteristics from the process, including a lack of breasts, and she is frequently teased or treated as a girl with a very small chest by her classmates, particularly Toori Aoi. Despite this, she carries herself with dignity and seriousness, striving to fulfill her father’s wish and uncover the truth behind the Remorse Way.
Personality-wise, Masazumi is very serious, sharp, and disciplined. She is a highly skilled debater and is often the voice of reason within the student council, frequently exasperated by the eccentricities of her colleagues. Her motivation is rooted in her political ambitions and a desire to protect the Far East’s sovereignty. She sees the conflict over Horizon as a means to stand up to the Testament Union and is willing to go to war if necessary to achieve that goal. Her logical and principled nature makes her a crucial strategist and negotiator for the group.
In the story, she serves as the student council’s vice president, using her debating prowess to argue for the Musashi’s actions and to secure alliances. She is deeply involved in the political maneuvering that accompanies the group’s quest to recover Horizon’s emotions. Her key relationships include a close working dynamic with Toori Aoi, the student council president, whose outlandish behavior both frustrates and inspires her. She also has ties to Futayo Honda, a fellow student and daughter of Tadakatsu Honda, as well as to Horizon Ariadust herself. Masazumi’s development involves learning to balance her rigid seriousness with the unpredictable reality of her allies, gradually accepting that positive thinking can help her endure their chaos.
Her notable abilities lie in rhetoric, political strategy, and quick thinking during debates. She is not shown as a combatant, but her intellectual contributions are vital to the student council’s operations. Physically, she has medium-length black hair and brown eyes, and she typically wears the student uniform with an armband designating her position.
