Description
The character known as Ash in the Japanese version of Monsuno is named Dax in the English adaptation. He is a male teenager who serves as one of the main protagonists.
Ash has brown skin, short dreadlock-style hair, and brown eyes, often wearing a blue beanie. His outward appearance reflects a typical bad boy image, and he speaks with an Australian accent. His personality is characterized by a very cocky attitude and a rebellious spirit, which initially causes other members of the main team, including Chase, Jinja, Bren, and Beyal, to dislike him upon their first encounter. Despite this abrasive exterior, Ash demonstrates a more caring and merciful side when the situation genuinely calls for it. He is also shown to hold grudges and is willing to do whatever it takes to get revenge on those who have wronged him.
Ash's background is marked by tragedy, as an attack by the organization Eklipse on his hometown resulted in the death of his parents. He saw his mother one last time before she and his father died in an explosion, an event that instilled in him a deep-seated need for revenge against Eklipse. He is athletic and possesses a significant amount of physical strength. Ash initially worked as a helper for Jeredy Suno, the father of the main protagonist Chase Suno, with his original mission being to assist Jeredy in destroying all Monsuno Essence by placing Failsafe devices. Jeredy had wanted to keep Chase uninvolved in this mission, but later ordered Ash to join Chase's travels.
In the story, Ash eventually joins the main group of characters, known as Team Core-Tech, and helps lead them toward various objectives. Over time, he transitions from being a solitary operative to a genuine friend to his teammates. His key relationships are defined by the nicknames he gives others; he calls Jinja Princess, much to her annoyance, and refers to Beyal as Monk Boy or Monk Fish. He also calls Chase Little Suno. He thinks Jinja should be attracted to him because he is the obvious choice, and the fact that she is not secretly bothers him.
Ash is a Monsuno fighter whose partners include Airswitch, Boost, Bioblaze, and Clubber. He also temporarily owned Whipper and Arachnablade, though he later gave Whipper to Jinja and Arachnablade to Beyal. His notable abilities extend beyond commanding Monsunos to his own physical prowess, which includes having a huge amount of strength capable of stopping a charging Jinja with ease.
