Description
Komari Kamikita is a student in Riki Naoe’s class and the sixth member to join the Little Busters. She is the younger sister of Takuya Kamikita and is presumed to be the granddaughter of Kojirou Kamikita. Her background is marked by a deep bond with her older brother, whose illness and eventual death left her with lasting emotional trauma. In response to that loss, she adopted a persistently cheerful and optimistic demeanor, but she struggles with unresolved grief that surfaces when she encounters death or blood.

Komari’s personality is childlike and whimsical. She has a strong fondness for fairy tales, picture books, sweets, and frilly clothing, and she often acts impulsively without thinking. Despite her clumsiness, she is sweet, caring, and deeply kind, traits that make her easy to get along with and especially endear her to the elderly residents at the care center where she volunteers. Her motivation is to focus on happiness and to avoid sad endings, yet she is compelled to confront her painful memories as her story progresses.

Within the Little Busters, Komari plays a key role in maintaining the group’s cheerful atmosphere and organizing social events, such as pancake parties, to strengthen bonds among the members. In her individual route, she works with Riki to recover lost memories of her brother. A pivotal moment occurs when she and Riki witness a dying kitten, triggering her repressed trauma and causing her to enter a state of denial. With Riki’s help and the guidance of Kojirou Kamikita, she ultimately learns the truth about Takuya’s death and begins to heal emotionally. In the Refrain arc, she offers encouragement to Rin Natsume before quietly disappearing from a dream world, symbolizing her growth and willingness to let go.

Komari’s key relationships include her close friendship with Rin Natsume, who is her best friend and confidante. She shares a deep but troubled bond with her deceased brother, Takuya, whose memory she idealizes. Riki Naoe becomes a central figure in her healing process, while her roommate Sasami Sasasegawa, whom she calls Sa-chan, provides daily companionship. She also has a warm connection with Kojirou Kamikita through her volunteer work.

In terms of abilities, Komari excels academically, particularly in English, and demonstrates surprising athletic potential. Although she is physically frail and initially the weakest member of the Little Busters baseball team, she shows quick improvement and can throw accurate pitches after only a brief demonstration. Her emotional resilience and capacity for growth are her most notable traits, as she gradually learns to accept her brother’s death and move forward without suppressing her feelings.
