Description
Ken Ogami is a protagonist from the anime B-Daman Fireblast, known for his status as a renegade competitor. He is a tall boy with gray hair that is swept to the left side of his head, resembling a tail, and he has a pair of reddish-brown eyes. His attire consists of a short-sleeved blue shirt with light-colored buttons, grey pants held up by red belts that are connected to suspenders, and a pair of maroon boots. His partner is the Power-Type B-Daman named Wolg, also known as Detonate Wolg.
Ken is characterized as an untrusting lone wolf who firmly believes in handling challenges on his own. He adheres to a personal code he calls the Commandments of the Stray Wolves and takes great pride in his abilities as a B-Daman player. This solitary nature stems from a specific incident in his past. After having his qualification to compete in the Road Fight revoked by the Western B-Master, Bakuga Shira, which led to him becoming a blacklisted B-Shot, Ken sought support from two friends. They gave him a new phone to stay in touch, but the device contained a tracking device. They were bribed by Hagataki, the leader of the Master Guardians, to betray Ken in exchange for their own freedom from Road Fight laws. This treachery caused Ken to harbor a deep grudge and solidified his belief that he could not rely on others.
As a result of this betrayal, Ken is initially dismissive of concepts like friendship and teamwork. However, as the series progresses, he slowly begins to warm up to other main characters, particularly Kamon Day and Misuru Hachuka, though he maintains a serious demeanor. He also bears a significant grudge against Bakuga Shira, having lost to him in a Road Fight challenge prior to being blacklisted. In contrast to his serious personality, Ken has a couple of lighter quirks; he is a notably fast eater and finds humor in the fact that his acquaintance Simon Sumiya is afraid of girls.
In the story, Ken is introduced while on the run from the Master Guardians, declaring that he and his B-Daman, Wolg, will not comply with the authorities. He is soon discovered by Kamon Day, a persistent B-Shot from Southern Crestland who follows him in hopes of a challenge. Ken eventually accepts a Road Fight against Kamon, with the terms being that Ken would listen to what Kamon had to say if he lost, and Kamon would have to leave if he lost. As a fugitive, Ken frequently has to flee when the Master Guardians appear. Regarding his abilities, Ken is a formidable player who relies on the incredible power of his B-Daman, Wolg. His signature technique is an Emblem Charge Shot known as the Hungry Wolf Gale Bullet, which he uses to demonstrate his power and intimidate opponents.
