Description
Garuburn is a B-Daman that serves as the partner of the main protagonist, Kamon Godai, in Crest Land. Known as Drive Garuburn, this B-Daman is a Power and Rapid-Fire Type whose B-Animal is the Vermilion Bird of the South, a creature often associated with fire and the phoenix. Kamon discovers Garuburn at a local B-Daman shop called B-Junk and feels an immediate, strange sense of familiarity with him, which leads to them becoming partners. The name Garuburn is a portmanteau of Garuda and burn, reflecting its fiery nature.
True to its elemental affinity, Garuburn has a fiery temperament. He is often prone to sudden outbursts when agitated or when things do not go as he expects. In these moments, he tends to yell without thinking, but he is also quick to apologize for his behavior, frequently using the catchphrase, "Oh, I'm sorry, I got so carried away". Despite this hot-headedness, Garuburn primarily has a serious personality and can appreciate a good joke, sometimes displaying a morbid sense of humor.
Garuburn's role in the story is intrinsically tied to Kamon. As Kamon battles and seeks to regain his lost memories of B-Daman, Garuburn is his constant companion and support. The early episodes show Garuburn offering advice and encouragement during battles, such as when Kamon faces his first Road Fight challenge against Mitsuru Hachuka. Garuburn's key relationship is with Kamon, but he also interacts with Kamon's family and friends, such as Himiko Godai, who nicknames him Garu-chan, much to his embarrassment.
