Ishida Uryuu is a Quincy and a recurring ally of Ichigo Kurosaki. He is a student at Karakura High School, known for his academic excellence and for being a member of the handicrafts club, where he demonstrates high skill in sewing. He possesses a calm, collected, and often solitary demeanor, which can sometimes come across as prideful or arrogant. Beneath this exterior, he has a strong sense of justice and a chivalrous nature, often showing a particular distaste for those who harm women. He operates by a personal code known as the Pride of the Quincy and tends to avoid using lethal force when victory can be achieved without it.

In the events of the Hell Verse movie, Ishida is one of Ichigo's close friends and allies. When a mysterious explosion occurs at their school and strange spiritual presences are felt in Karakura Town, he joins Ichigo, Orihime Inoue, and Yasutora Sado to investigate. Upon encountering the entities responsible, which are later revealed to be Sinners from Hell known as Kokuto and his companions, Ishida demonstrates his characteristic strategic thinking. He is the one who notes that the spiritual pressure they sense is unlike anything he has encountered before, distinguishing it from that of a Soul, a Hollow, a human with special abilities, or a Shinigami.

During the ensuing battle, Ishida confronts an adversary named Garogai. He displays his primary Quincy ability by generating and firing multiple Heilig Pfeil, or spiritual arrows, from his energy bow. His role in the story is that of a supporting fighter and strategic observer, providing both combat support and analytical insights to his team as they face this new and unprecedented threat from Hell. His key relationships in the film are with his usual companions: Ichigo, the powerful and impulsive leader of the group; Orihime, whom he protects; and Chad, with whom he fights alongside. His relationship with Ichigo is one of mutual respect and rivalry, as he follows the substitute Shinigami into battle while maintaining his own independent identity as a Quincy.

During the battle at Karakura High School, Ishida confronts the Sinner Garogai. He unleashes a barrage of Heilig Pfeil, but his arrows are intercepted and absorbed by another Sinner, Taikon. Taikon then reflects that absorbed energy back at Ishida as a blast, successfully striking him. This moment highlights the powerful and unusual nature of their enemies, who possess abilities that can directly counter a Quincy's projectile attacks. Despite this setback, Ishida remains a steadfast member of Ichigo's group, committed to protecting Karakura Town. He does not develop significantly as a character within this standalone film, instead acting as an established ally whose personality and powers are consistent with his portrayal in the main series.
