Description
Bryan Roscoe is a prominent character known as a world-famous magician, instantly recognizable by his signature fiery red hair. Beneath the veneer of a traveling performer lies a far more complex identity; he is a descendant of the Gray Wolves, a group possessing remarkable intellect and a long-term perspective on world events.

His background is rooted in tragedy and exile. Originally from the Kingdom of Saillune, he and his twin brother were cast out from the Gray Wolf village and abandoned by their mother. They eventually arrived in Sauville, where they formed a two-man magic troupe and performed on the streets to make a living. It was during this time that Bryan met Cordelia Gallo, a dancer who was also an outcast from the Gray Wolves. He became deeply attached to her, and she became the central figure of his life.

Bryan's motivations are entirely centered on Cordelia Gallo. He cares for her deeply and has dedicated himself to protecting her, even helping her escape from the confinement imposed by the Marquis Albert de Blois. However, his feelings towards Cordelia's daughter, Victorique, are overwhelmingly negative. He sees Victorique as the living embodiment of the Marquis's crimes against Cordelia, a constant reminder of his own failure to prevent her suffering. He openly admits to hating Victorique for making Cordelia cry and for being the most important person in her life, a position he jealously covets for himself. One of the twin brothers even confesses to wanting to kill Victorique so that Cordelia would live only for them.

The explanation for Bryan's often contradictory behavior lies in the fact that he is one half of a pair of identical twins, both using the same name. They share the same red hair and profession, but their personalities are distinct. The more gentle and compassionate of the two devoted himself to staying by Cordelia's side. The other brother is more aggressive and blunt, once referring to Victorique as a tool when speaking with Kujo. This twin was initially driven by his hatred to eliminate Victorique. However, during an attempt on her life, he fell from a cliff and was saved by the very girl he sought to kill. This act of mercy caused him to change his course of action, and he resolved to help her instead.

Throughout the story, Bryan acts as an enigmatic and ambivalent figure. He is an adversary of Victorique's father, the Marquis, and works to oppose his plans. He is the one who provided electricity to the isolated Gray Wolf village, sparking their curiosity about the outside world. He also collaborated with the Royal Science Academy, using his skills as an illusionist to help them conjure a grand engineering feat, though this was part of his larger scheme against the Marquis. He repeatedly appears before the protagonists, sometimes offering warnings about the dangers surrounding them, and at other times directly interfering with their lives.

As a magician, Bryan's notable ability lies in creating spectacular illusions, a skill he once used to disrupt a German bombing run by projecting a massive image of the Virgin Mary. His understanding of technology and his foresight make him a cunning and resourceful operative capable of manipulating events from behind the scenes.

In the end, the fates of the two brothers diverge drastically. The gentle twin remained with Cordelia, and in the final climax, he was seen holding her hand as they perished together in a great fire. The other brother, having taken on the mission to protect Victorique, helped her escape her pursuers. However, the journey required him to leave the old continent, and his body, unable to withstand the separation, began to corrode. He ultimately died from his severe injuries while on the ship carrying Victorique to safety.
