Description
Yuri Honjō, a high school student, finds herself abruptly hurtled into a twisted realm of interconnected skyscrapers teeming with masked killers. Overwhelmed at first, witnessing a masked figure murder someone forces her into immediate survival mode. Her driving purpose becomes locating her older brother, Rika Honjō, who is also trapped. Phone communication establishes their goal to reunite, offering Yuri vital emotional stability during terrifying encounters with lethal threats like the Axe Mask and a corrupt police officer.

She possesses waist-length dark blue hair and brown eyes, typically wearing her sailor-style school uniform adorned with a pink bow, black belt, and olive boots scavenged from a corpse. Innately kind and polite, Yuri rapidly develops resilience. Her early survival hinges on quick thinking—using smoke screens for evasion and employing psychological tactics like feigning suicide to momentarily confuse pursuing Masks, exploiting their programmed tendency to halt attacks when humans express despair.

A pivotal alliance forms with another survivor, Mayuko Nise. Initially hostile, Mayuko shifts to unwavering loyalty after Yuri saves her life. This partnership proves critical as they navigate rooftop dangers and pursue escape via helicopter. Yuri's protective nature extends to others, though she grapples with guilt over fatalities occurring near her, such as the deaths of Nomura and Nakazaki during a Mask confrontation.

Her evolution intensifies upon acquiring a faulty Faceless Mask, elevating her to a "Person Closer to God." This grants supernatural abilities, including dimensional manipulation for teleportation and enhanced marksmanship. Initially unpredictable, she learns to weaponize this power, eliminating four Strong Masks single-handedly and earning a reputation feared by entities like the Administrator and Angry Masks. However, this power demands ethical compromise; she increasingly accepts lethal force against Masks despite knowing they were once humans controlled by external commands.

Her commitment escalates to morally gray extremes. To rescue Mayuko from mask-induced mental control, Yuri willingly embraces darker methods, declaring intent to "walk a path of evil" to destroy the Administrator and create a "happy ending." This choice briefly nullifies her Faceless Mask abilities but unlocks a volatile new power. During a near-fatal confrontation with the Administrator, intervention by Rika—newly freed from brainwashing—saves her. Facing the consequences of her actions and unable to control her unstable abilities, she decides to temporarily "vanish" from the conflict.

Key relationships define her journey. Her devotion to Rika borders on worship, driving many decisions. The bond with Mayuko evolves into mutual dependence, marked by protective fervor and ambiguous romantic undertones, including a shared kiss. Interactions with Sniper Mask transition from adversarial to alliance-based, particularly after discovering his connection to Rika and their shared opposition to the realm's controllers.
