Description
Ororo Munroe, known by the code name Storm, is a mutant superhero and a central member of the X-Men in the anime. She was born to an African mother descended from a long line of tribal priestesses and an African-American father, and her distinctive white hair is a trait inherited from that maternal lineage. When she was a child, her parents were killed when a plane crashed into their home, and Ororo, trapped for a time beneath the rubble, survived but developed a lasting claustrophobia. Left alone, she lived on the streets and became a skilled pickpocket under the tutelage of a master thief. She later journeyed south across Africa and eventually reached the Serengeti, where she used her emerging powers over the weather to bring rain and relief to local communities, who came to regard her with reverence as a kind of goddess figure. Professor Charles Xavier eventually recruited her, and she took her place among the X-Men.

By the time of the anime's story, the X-Men have separated following the tragedy of Jean Grey, who lost control of the Phoenix Force and was stopped by her teammates before sacrificing herself. Storm is among the members who fought against Jean in that conflict and who carries the weight of that loss. When the team reunites to face new threats, she rejoins them as one of their most experienced and powerful fighters.

Storm is calm, composed, and dignified, with a strong sense of responsibility toward both her teammates and innocent people. She possesses natural leadership qualities and is often one of the more grounded and level-headed members of the group. Because her emotional state can influence the weather around her, she tends to keep her feelings disciplined, particularly her anger. Her loyalty to Professor Xavier is deep, and she treats her fellow X-Men with care and respect. Her motivations center on protecting others, standing against those who threaten mutantkind, and upholding the ideals the X-Men represent.

In combat and crisis, Storm acts as a senior field member whose judgment and powers are trusted by the team. Her abilities are weather-based and highly versatile: she can summon rain, lightning, wind, tornadoes, blizzards, and other atmospheric phenomena over a wide area, or direct them with precision against a target. She can fly by shaping air currents to carry her, and her body is largely resistant to extreme temperatures and pressure. When she uses her powers, her eyes often take on a white glow. Her claustrophobia remains a personal vulnerability even as her powers make her one of the most powerful members of the team.
