Description
Kijima Matako is a young woman known as the Red Bullet, a nickname earned through her exceptional skill with firearms. She serves as a prominent member of the Kiheitai, an extremist and destructive paramilitary group led by the revolutionary Shinsuke Takasugi.
Physically, Matako is slender and of average height, with long blonde hair usually tied up in a side ponytail and striking blue eyes. Her typical attire is distinctive and somewhat provocative, consisting of a cropped, sleeveless kimono-style top and a matching mini-skirt, both in a pink hue. She carries her weapons of choice, a pair of revolvers, in holsters positioned at her hips.
Matako possesses a complex and often contradictory personality. On the surface, she is aggressive, hot-tempered, and remarkably fearless. Her motivations are rooted in a personal history of tragedy and revenge. Matako is the daughter of a patriot who was executed by the Bakufu, the shogunate government. Her mother was subsequently persecuted and also died, leaving Matako orphaned and consumed by a burning hatred for the authorities. She inherited her father's revolver and sought to join Takasugi's cause. Though initially dismissed by him, her dedication and ferocity led to her being rescued from an execution by Takasugi and his comrade Kawakami Bansai, after which she formally became a member of the Kiheitai. Her actions are therefore driven by a desire for vengeance against the government that destroyed her family, as well as an unwavering loyalty to the man who gave her a new purpose.
