Description
Abiru Kobushi is a student in class 2-F, instantly recognizable by the numerous bandages covering much of her body, often including a patch over one eye. She has black shoulder-length hair typically worn in braids and a pale complexion. Her eyes are heterochromatic: her visible right eye is brown, while her left eye, hidden beneath bandages, received a corneal transplant and possesses an unusual ability to display the license plate number of the vehicle that struck the donor. The extent of her bandages varies, and she sometimes applies them without any injury to attract attention. She has notably flexible hip joints, allowing her to sit in positions like the wariza. Her personality is stoic, dry, and unfriendly, marked by blunt, emotionally flat speech, yet she harbors an intense passion for animal tails. This obsession leads her to pull animal tails despite the danger, and she works at a zoo where the animals’ retaliation causes her injuries—contrary to initial rumors of domestic abuse. At home, she keeps a large collection of mounted animal tails, usually claiming they are replicas. She aspires to become a veterinarian and dreams of traveling the world to pull the tail of every animal species, with chipmunks, Bengal tigers, and green pythons ranked among her favorites. She briefly kidnaps a classmate to keep as a pet and deeply admires her teacher. Her name is a pun meaning “to bathe in fists,” alluding to the constant retaliation she endures. After a detoxification process, her injuries temporarily heal, fully revealing her face and transplanted eye.
