Description
Eclipse serves as the Chief of the Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs, commonly known as GOTT. In this capacity, she is responsible for overseeing the normal economic activity across the galaxy and manages the organization's most powerful asset, a special and secret branch of operatives called the ES Force. She primarily supervises these agents from the GOTT headquarters, dispatching them on various missions to enforce regulations and maintain order. While this is her public-facing role, deeper layers of her background are revealed as the story progresses. Eclipse is not merely an administrator; she is herself a high-ranking ES member, possessing a classification of G-Class. This places her as a contemporary of the main protagonists and indicates she has lived for over two centuries, achieving a form of near-immortality by using her unique abilities to change her physical body when necessary.

In terms of personality, Eclipse is defined by a collected calm and a rational demeanor. She rarely displays overt anger or her innermost feelings, carrying herself with eloquence and a smooth professionalism that commands respect, particularly from her subordinates like the ES member Eclair. Despite her formidable authority and the cold, pragmatic nature of her position which allows for the purging of agents who disobey orders, she demonstrates a genuine, if understated, care for the young operatives under her command, often wishing for their safe return from dangerous assignments. Her motivations are rooted in the stable functioning of GOTT and the wider galactic order. Initially, she appears as a loyal subordinate to her superior, Chevalier Dautrich, faithfully executing the organization's directives. However, she is ultimately driven by a sense of duty and responsibility, especially towards the ES members, and takes great personal risk to correct the organization when it falls into corrupt hands.

Eclipse's role in the story evolves from a distant authority figure to a central player in the conflict. Early on, she is the one who grants arrest authorizations and issues orders, serving as the primary point of contact for field agents. As the narrative progresses and sinister activities within GOTT come to light, her true nature as a long-lived ES member is revealed, and she is shown to be a pawn being used by those above her. Following a coup that sees GOTT taken over by the rogue ES members Alv and Dvergr, Eclipse is seemingly defeated. However, with the aid of other allies, she survives and plays a crucial role in reclaiming the organization. Her key relationships include her secretary, the data specialist Mercredi, and her superior, Chevalier Dautrich. The most significant relationship is arguably with the main characters, Eclair and Lumiere, for whom she serves as a respected leader, and who ultimately help her restore GOTT. Following these events and the time-freezing incident on the planet Azrantia, she reorganizes GOTT into a new entity called GTO, becoming its first director.

Throughout her character development, Eclipse transitions from a mysterious, untouchable leader to a more vulnerable and personally invested individual. Her most poignant development occurs when she initiates the Gemini Plan, a desperate effort to save and revive Eclair and Lumiere after their apparent deaths. To create clones of them, she overuses her innate ability, known as "Kvant," which allows her to quantize and manipulate souls, transferring them into new bodies. The strain of repeatedly using this power takes a tremendous toll on her own life force. In a final act of sacrifice, after creating the fourth clone, she transplants her ability to another before dying, cementing her legacy as someone who would give everything to protect her charges.

Eclipse possesses notable abilities stemming from her quantum-manipulating power, Kvant. This primary ability allows her to perform feats such as encoding, the process of transferring a soul from a dying or damaged body into a new one, ensuring the functional immortality of herself and other ES members. She also demonstrates the power to teleport, described as performing a quantum jump over short distances, and has shown the capacity to utilize her quantum abilities for offensive energy attacks.
